Sunday Lunch Fundraising Campaign
Sunday is traditionally the day that families and friends sit to enjoy lunch and spend time together. But for 1 in 3 elderly living alone in the UK, Sunday can be the most isolated day of the week. That's why I am hoping that families will sit down on Sunday 19th October to raise a fork and funds to help Age Concern Hammersmith and Fulham (ACHF) continue to run their Lunch clubs and Resource Centre to provide food and bring friends together.
Why we need your help
Despite ACHF’s success in providing a broad range of support and services to older people, the external funding environment is challenging and competitive. Disturbingly government and local authority funding that has been available to us is being reduced and the reality is that unless the money is found from somewhere, Age Concern Hammersmith and Fulham will have to help fewer old people – a situation that staff and Trustee at Age Concern are keen to avoid.
How can you support us?
ACHF invites you to get involved in its Great Sunday Lunch Campaign. On 19th October we’re asking people, organisations and businesses in Hammersmith and Fulham to have Sunday Lunch with family and friends to help raise money to help our older people. The Great Sunday Lunch aims to highlight the issue of social isolation for older people in our community for whom Sunday Lunch can often be a difficult and lonely time, and we welcome your support.
